Jaundice is the abnormal yellowing of the skin and or sclera because of the deposition of bilirubin. The 4 most common causes of increase bilirubin level are the following: 1) Hemolysis 2) Obstruction 3) Tumor 4) Liver Disease Mnemonic for the Students “ HOT LIVER ” H – Hemolysis O – Obstruction T – Tumor LIVER
