- National Chiang Kai-shek Memorial Hall is located at the east end of Liberty Square

National Chiang Kai-shek Memorial Hall
- Chinese: 國立中正紀念堂)
- built in memory of Chiang Kai-shek,, a former President of the Republic of China
- Chiang Kai-shek died at the age of 89.
- To commomerate this, they build two sets of white stairs each with 89 steps in the memorial hall.
- The roof resembles the number eight, a number that signifies abundance and good fortune.
National Chiang Kai-shek Memorial Hall
- A library and museum is situated at the ground level of the memorial hall. It houses the Chiang Kai-shek’s life and Taiwan’s history.
- A large statue of Chiang Kai-shek is located at the upper level of the hall.
Changing of Guards
- Guards change every hour from 9am to 5pm for a total of 9 times a day.
